WHAT MOVIE WAS IT WHERE THE DUDE GOT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING LIKE FOURTY TIMES? NO MATTER WHAT HE DID TO AVOID IT HE GOT STUCK. IT WASNT PART OF THE MAIN NARRATIVE OF THE MOVIE. IT WAS ONCE OF THE CHARACTERS TELLING ANOTHER THE STORY OF THE DUDE GETTING STRUCK.

Well. I guess claiming the postman got struck by lightning is a way to make an excuse for not reading a letter. It's cowardly though. It is better in the end to just be honest and tell the person you don't like them anymore. But nobody does that anymore. Oh well. I used to LOVE the flaming lips. Now I hear them and I feel nothing. Just empty.
I think the movie you are thinking of might be the world according to Garp. But maybe not. Lame
Well, there is a character in The Great Outdoors who gets struck by lightning 66 times, and actually gets struck during the movie
& there's a minor character in Benjamin Button who also gets struck by lightning quite frequently
Maybe the postmen are getting struck by lightning all the time because they're so slow - they're just an easier target to hit - in fact, I'm pretty sure the postmen that work at the Fort Collins post office, have been struck numerous times.
The Flaming Lips had a window of time when they made great music, and I saw them in concert with Beck during that time, and it was glorious!
But then they did a remake of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band with Miley Cyrus, and that's when they became dead to me

I think it was benjamin button. My dad got struck by lightening once when he first started dating my ma. It was raining and they got a flat tire. So he got out to fix it and lightening struck a tree about ten feet away. Dad was knocked out cold. My mom was oblivious because she was in the car on 3 rubber tires.
PS one of the best concerts I ever saw was the lips doing dark side of the moon. Now they have permanently sullied themselves with that foul Cyrus.
