I dedicate todays song in memory of Gato, my friend and my dog, who left this world on Thursday. I feel his absence as a physical sensation. Love and mercy. It is exactly what Gato gave.
I was sittin' in a crummy movie
With my hands on my chin
All the violence that occurs
Seems like we never win
Love and mercy, that's what you need tonight
So love and mercy to you and your friends tonight
I was lying in my room
And the news came on TV
A lotta people out there hurtin'
And it really scares me
Love and mercy, that's what you need tonight
Love and mercy to you and your friends tonight
I was standing in a bar
And watching all the people there
Oh, the loneliness in this world
Well it's just not fair
Hey, love and mercy, that's what we need tonight
So love and mercy to you and your friends tonight
Love and mercy, that's what you need tonight
Love and mercy tonight
Love and mercy tonight

This song seems to be pretty sincere. It comes from a pure place of stillness. Yes. We all need some love and mercy. Mostly we need it from ourselves. I approve
I'm so very sorry for the passing of Gato, he had a great life, because you were his Dad.
I can't remember who said it, but it goes something like ~ wherever we go when we die, our pets will be there waiting for us.
I like that a lot, so I say it's true.
As for the song - I've been listening to this one lately, so it's cool you picked it.
We need this now, more that ever. Great googly moogly!
Thank you Dan . I agree. If our dogs ain't in heaven then I don't want to go there. In fact it is much more likely that we will be the guests of our furry friends in heaven since they are the ones who love unconitionally. So Dustin, Hoffman, Malodious, Cosette, Feliz, Drover, and Gato, prepare a place for us.
