my man's treating me mean
I regret the day that I was born
and that man of mine I've ever seen
Happiness, it never lasts a day,
my heart is almost breaking while I say
A good man is hard to find,
you always get the other kind
Just when you think that he is your pal,
you look for him & find him fooling 'round some other gal
Then you rave, you even crave
to see him laying in his grave
So, if your man is nice,
take my advice and hug him in the morning, kiss him ev'ry night,
give him plenty lovin',
treat him right
For a good man nowadays is hard to find,
a good man nowadays is hard to find.
YOU COULD ALSO SAY A HARD MAN IS GOOD TO FIND.

She regrets the day that she was born???!
Why ? Because she can't find a good man?? That's stupid. She should be happy she is alive. Although I do know the pain that loving someone in that way can bring. I can no longer relate to love songs like this. I once could. Back when I was going through those emotions. Love songs helped. Now they bore me. What we need are more songs about your kids not listening to you when you tell them to get in the bath. Or songs about how your body isn't as fresh as it used to be. Or songs about the only movies I see are kids movies. But there are no songs like that. So I won't relate. Shove off
Well... there is the Tower of Song. "I ache in the places that I used to play." But generally love songs are for young people because once you stop being bat shit crazy and reason starts to kick in and you realize its no fun to have a girl or dude rip your heart out and crush it with their hiking boots then you don't write good love songs. Lessin' you are bat shit crazy. And love songs are all about the beginning or the end. Not about the kids or the sullen pile of blankets you dare not disturb when you get into bed or risk sullen fury. Oh well.
Yes. For once I agree with you. I am sad to admit it.
