Drowning out the headlines every morning
Hanging out for dear life just to keep it rolling
Turn it up (The world is loud)
You wanna play? (We'll take you down)
Zoning out (Till nothing's left, yeah)
Turn it up (The world is loud)
You wanna play? (We'll take you down)
Zoning out (Till nothing's left, yeah)
We don't fear, we don't fear you
We've got love and music, love and music
We don't fear, we don't fear you
We've got love and music, love and music
It's the children that we lose
Trust your government
It's the children that we lose
Trust your government
Trust your government
Meet me there at the end, time to forget
Puppet kings and hurricanes ain't got us yetTurn it up (The world is loud)
You wanna play? (We'll take you down)
Zoning out (Till nothing's left, yeah)
Turn it up (The world is loud)
You wanna play? (We'll take you down)
Zoning out (Till nothing's left, yeah)
We don't fear, we don't fear you
We've got love and music, love and music
We don't fear, we don't fear you
We've got love and music, love and music
Suit yourself, you don't need the truth
Only something new
It's the children that we lose
Trust your government
We consume to medicate
Playing victims of fate
It's the children that we lose
Trust your government
Trust your government
Trust your government
We don't fear, we don't fear you
We've got love and music, love and music
Don't fear, oh, unite
Love and music
Don't fear, no, don't fear, no
(Suit yourself, we don't need the truth, only something new)
We've got love and music, love and music
(It's the children that we lose
Tust your government)
Don't feel, oh, unite
(We consume to medicate
Playing victims of fate)
Love and music
(It's the children that we lose
Trust your government)
Himalayan mourning tune
Like we're already gone
It's the children that we lose
It's the children that we lose
It's the children that we lose
Trust your government
Trust your government
Trust your government
Trust your government
Trust your government
Trust your government

I don’t trust the government. Not one bit. Dang gum guvenment sorry sons of bitches. I’m not sure if love and music is a reason to not be afraid. It’s a nice idea in theory but music and love make sorry aaa weapons against hate. Sad.
The question is ~ can you really trust humans in positions of power in the first place?
History tells us that, for the most part, no...no you can't
We seem to be hardwired to eventually go corrupt at some point
Now I know there have to be a few exceptions, or at least I hope so
Tolkein had it right when he gave the rings of power to the nine men
and those nine men led it go way too far, way too fast and POOF they're Ring Wraiths
We can't help ourselves, we're just really good at becoming powerful, rich bastards
Now as far as music and love goes
Well, they're the peanut butter and jelly that fill your belly on the tough days
They're the soulful medication that allows us to keep going
Big River is one of my fave musicals. And No. A human in power will become corrupted. End of story. That is why we need universal term limits. And your comment on peanut butter and jelly is spot on. and poetic.
