We Are The Clash by The Clash

Punk rockers, hip-hoppers
Brit poppers, show stoppers
Beboppers, hair droppers
Are you ready to sing?
Right wing, left wing
I want something
To see me through (???)
Bout what do you think
We ain't gonna be treated like trash
We got one thing
We are the Clash
What?
We are the Clash
It's like a patch
You can strike that match
With my guitar now
(???) last dance
I see them where they (???)
How they usually stay
Beating on a drum
Did they tell them 'take it in'
Got the (???)
Where the fat boy blew
We ain't gonna be treated like trash
We got one thing
We are the Clash
That's right
We are the Clash
It's like a patch
You can strike that match
Home fires burnin'
In motorcycle city
The rockin' gods will choose
If I'm worthy to live
The first (???) engine
(???) forty-six
And there's no more (???)
To imitate respect
We ain't gonna be treated like trash
We got one thing
We are the Clash
Don't take no shit
We are the Clash
Do ya hear me?
It's like a patch
You can strike that match

If you don’t want to be treated like trash you need to start by not acting like trash. Dress respectable. Act good. Treat others with kindness and respect. This is the first step towards being treated good. Joe strummer learned this lesson eventually. But in his youth he was treated like trash cuz he wanted people to treat him like trash. Cuz that’s how young people roll.

Yes, in their youth they were rebels and punk rockers, so trash was their comfort zone

And they were investigated quite a few times, because of how hard it was to understand some of their lyrics

One of the many lessons Andy has taught his daughter Artemis is the question & answer

"Who is the only band that matters?" - The Clash - she knew this at age 3

They truly are one of the best bands ever and had such a significant impact on my musical tastes

London Calling is one of the best albums of all time

And I spent many a cold night listening to Sandinista with the headphones on in Laramie

You know how certain bands music reminds you of happy times throughout your life?

The Clash's music is that way for me, it has bobbed and weaved its way through my life and always will

Plus Joe Strummer's solo career was amazing, with his final album a masterpiece

Mick Jones in Big Audio Dynamite had some great tunes too

Joe and Mick were both extremely talented, but what gave them such a unique sound and feel was Topper

His drumming was so versatile and the different rhythms he could muster were absolutely brilliant

I could go on for quite awhile about these blokes, but I'll stop for now ~ do me a favor though

Next time you get a chance, put on London Calling and give it a listen

Oh I listen the shit out of London Calling. One of the best albums and one of the best songs ever. In fact the opening cords of London Calling was my ringtone for a couple of years. And as you know Shareef Don't Like It.
