Russians by Sting

In Europe and America there's a growing feeling of hysteria.

Conditioned to respond to all the threats
In the rhetorical speeches of the Soviets.
MIster Krushchev said, "We will bury you."
I don't subscribe to this point of view.
It'd be such an ignorant thing to do
If the Russians love their children too.
How can I save my little boy from Oppenheimer's deadly toy?
There is no monopoly on common sense
On either side of the political fence.
We share the same biology, regardless of ideology.
Believe me when I say to you,
I hope the Russians love their children too

There is no historical precedent
To put the words in the mouth of the president?
There's no such thing as a winnable war,
It's a lie we don't believe anymore.
Mister Reagan says, "We will protect you."
I don't subscribe to this point of view.
Believe me when I say to you,
I hope the Russians love their children too
We share the same biology, regardless of ideology.
But what might save us, me and you,
Is if the Russians love their children too

HOW IRONIC THAT THIS SONG HAS NO IRONY FORTY-ONE YEARS AFTER IT CAME OUT... SAME AS IT EVER WAS...

Yes. It’s the same thing over and over. Until one day it happens and we all perish in “Oppenheimer’s toy”. Indeed it’s amazing that humans will always be counted on on to fail and never learn. It’s sad. This song should be a nostalgic silly thing by now. It seemed like it was on course to be. But no longer. Also why is his name Sting? Was that his actual name ? Cuz it’s kinda weird.

His real name is Gordon Sumptner. One of his albums is called Ten Sumptner Songs. He got the name Sting Because he had a yellow and black sweater he used to wear in early Police days.

Ok, I'll admit it - I like this song - it's catchy, dark and poignant

But, it's the only Sting song that deserves any credit

The rest of his debut album is rubbish and so is everything else

You could have given us a follow up album to The Police's 'Synchronicity'

But no, you gave us this monstrosity with 'Love is the 7th Wave'

Blech

He left a band that is one of my all time favorites, so he could sit along side...

John Tesh and the rest of the Adult Contemporary music community

He hasn't released anything of merit since

It's all music you listen to when you want to fall asleep

You let us down Sting, you joined the dull side

I want to apologize for my last entry

After all this time - apparently I haven’t come to terms yet with Sting leaving The Police

Some feelings came bubbling up and I kinda lost it there

I have nothing against Sting’s music, it’s just not for me

Thank you for your time
