Nothing Matters When We're Dancing by The Magnetic Fields

Dance with me, my old friend

Once before we go
Let's pretend this song won't end
And we never have to go home
And we'll dance among the chandeliers

And nothing matters when we're dancing
In tat or tatters, you're entrancing
Be we in Paris or in Lansing
Nothing matters when we're dancing

You've never been more beautiful
Your eyes like two full moons
As here in this poor old dance hall
Among the dreadful tunes
The awful songs we don't even hear

And nothing matters when we're dancing
In tat or tatters, you're entrancing
Be we in Paris or in Lansing
Nothing matters when we're dancing

And nothing matters when we're dancing
In tat or tatters you're entrancing
Be we in Paris or in Lansing
Nothing matters when we're dancing

Nothing matters when we're dancing

i wonder how they got the rights to use that old footage. I used to love to dance. it was probably my favorite thing to do. when the movement and the music were in perfect sync it felt magical. now I hate dancing. i think it's stupid and a waste of time. God help me. so sad.

This is another great tune off this album

It's like when you hear music so good, you dance without even realizing it

Very similar to playing music, when you find that groove, nothing else matters

Now I've never been a strong dancer and I've never claimed to be one

You'd be surprised though, how many times I've had to dance in plays

I was even made a dance captain for a play once, unbeknownst of my lack of ability

It was only because nobody else remembered the steps

Who knew Ballet Elefante would be so helpful down the road

I will say the only play I enjoyed dancing in, was Spamalot

I argued that if any of them didn't know how to dance, it was Patsy

So I got to dance the way I thought Patsy would dance - good times

I dance at concerts sometimes

I dance at Improv shows, if the occasion arises

But mostly I dance in the living room and kitchen

That's where I shine
