Burn It Down by Linkin Park

 The cycle repeated

As explosions broke in the skyAll that I neededWas the one thing I couldn't find
And you were there at the turnWaiting to let me know
We're building it up to break it back downWe're building it up to burn it downWe can't wait to burn it to the ground
The colors conflictedAs the flames climbed into the cloudsI wanted to fix thisBut couldn't stop from tearing it down
And you were there at the turnCaught in the burning glowAnd I was there at the turnWaiting to let you know
We're building it up to break it back downWe're building it up to burn it downWe can't wait to burn it to the ground
You told me yes, you held me highAnd I believed when you told that lieI played soldier, you played kingAnd struck me down when I kissed that ring
You lost that right to hold that crownI built you up but you let me downSo when you fall, I'll take my turnAnd fan the flames as your blazes burn
And you were there, at the turnWaiting to let me know
We're building it up to break it back downWe're building it up to burn it downWe can't wait to burn it to the ground
When you fall, I'll take my turnAnd fan the flames as your blazes burnWe can't wait to burn it to the groundWhen you fall, I'll take my turnAnd fan the flames as your blazes burnWe can't wait to burn it to the ground

Yes. We are burning it all to the ground. Lincoln park is one of those bands from long ago that in my mind I think of as new. But they ain’t. This is what happens when you get old. Also they have never recorded a song that I liked. But that doesn’t mean they are bad. Just that I am closed minded. Or maybe not. Who am I to say. At least they record music. All I do is watch magnum.

LInkin Park are one of those bands where you like the occasional song, but never enough to buy an album

I remember their video for Pts.Of.Arhty was pretty cool - just a full on robot war

Yes there does seem to be a yearn for the burn right now, but I shall offer some songs in response

It's Gonna Rain - Violent Femmes
It's Raining Again - Supertramp
Rain - The Beatles
Purple Rain - Prince
I Love A Rainy Night - Eddie Rabbit
Pencil Rain - They Might Be Giants
Singing In The Rain - Gene Kelly
Have You Ever Seen The Rain - CCR
Here Comes The Rain Again - Eurythmics
Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head - B. Thomas

Now If after seeing that list, you have a song or two stuck in your head...

Well then, to quote 'Stick Out Your Leg' - ...."There's Still Hope!"
