I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2

I have climbed highest mountain
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you

I have run
I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in her fingertips
It burned like fire
This burning desire

I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

I believe in the kingdom come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
Well yes I'm still running

You broke the bonds and you
Loosed the chains
Carried the cross
Of my shame
Of my shame
You know I believed it

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for...

You will never find what you are looking for if you are actively looking. It will only come if you stop looking. And if you are able to let go and stop looking for things to make you happy they will come naturally. But you won’t care. This is the great ironic joke of the universe. This is also an awesome song. U2 wrote a good song but the best recording of it isn’t from U2. Colm Wilkinson does this song much justice. He is rad. So rad.

I believe it's a rare few that truly find what they're looking for

Usually we find temporary fixes along the road, and eventually settle

I admire those that never quit looking

But, yes there are some things you can't look for - they have to find you

Things you can't look for - Love, purpose, meaning,

Things you can look for - car keys, a job, answers, Easter eggs

This is a great song, and it's not even the best song on the album

Arguably their best album, although I lean more towards Unforgettable Fire

I listened to Colm's version - he's got a great voice

- At times he reminds me of the Bee Gee's

The Bee Gee's rock

Well... I would go so far as to say that seeking is an important part of life. It is the fire. If you stop seeking, then what is there? I'll tell you what. Its called the dark ages. That's what. When the religious folks went balls out on stopping all seeking. Then it became popular again to seek and dudes like Galileo and Rembrandt stuffed the religious folks balls back in their pants and we had this little ol' thing called the renaissance.

But I also think you have to be satisfied with what you have. You have to learn to love the moment that we live in. Not easy to do. But it is the path to peace little grasshopper.
