Elephant Gun by Beirut

If I was young, I'd flee this town

I'd bury my dreams undergroundAs did I, we drink to die, we drink tonight
Far from home, elephant gunLet's take them down one by oneWe'll lay it down, it's not been found, it's not around
Let the seasons begin, it rolls right onLet the seasons begin, take the big king down
Let the seasons begin, it rolls right onLet the seasons begin, take the big king down
And it rips through the silence of our camp at nightAnd it rips through the night
And it rips through the silence of our camp at nightAnd it rips through the silence, all that is left is all that I hide

I remember feeling free and loose and dancing. No longer. I’ve never seen a trumpet played sideways before. Also why did they go to the beach ? The people in this video were sloppy and had had no inhibitions. . That’s what being young is. But the video needed more humor.

First off, I love this band, but yes they do make rather eccentric videos

Their song 'Postcards From Italy' is a beautiful piece of music

'East Harlem' is great too, but they also have a lot of great tunes

This is an American band fronted by Zach Condon who was born in Santa Fe

He grew up in Virginia and Santa Fe, and went to Santa Fe High School until dropping out at 17 to travel Europe

When he came back, he went to the University of New Mexico to study photography and Portuguese

While attending he wrote his first album, Gulag Orkestar in his room

Condon named the band after Lebanon's capital, because of the city's history of conflict and as a place where cultures collide

HIs exploration of world music help form Beirut's melodic sound

On their third album Rip Tide is a song called 'Santa Fe'

This video was named one of the top 50 videos of 2007

Woah. I can't count the number of Indie Rock songs that feature and euphonium, because I can't count to one...too hard. Euphonium is one of the best instruments. Period. Period? Wait, am I writing a period piece? No! All folk music is kind of the same. I guess that's because it is made by folks. Folks are everywhere. This song reminds me of this special I watched about people in Uganda hitting boulders. They are called Rock Gongs. I guess this is the origin of Rock music. Confusing because it sounds more like folk.
