Missionary Man by Eurythmics

Well I was born an original sinner
I was born from original sin
And if I had a dollar bill for all the things I've done
There'd be a mountain of money piled up to my chin
My mother told me good, my mother told me strong
She said, "Be true to yourself and you can't go wrong
But there's just one thing that you must understand
You can fool with your brother
But don't mess with a missionary man
Don't mess with a missionary man
Don't mess with a missionary man
Don't mess with a missionary man
Oh, the missionary man, he's got God on his side
He's got the saints and apostles backin' up from behind
Black eyed looks from those Bible books
He's a man with a mission, got a serious mind
There was a woman in the jungle and a monkey on a tree
The missionary man he was followin' me
He said, "Stop what you're doin', get down upon your knees
I've a message for you that you better believe"
Believe, believe, believe, believe
Believe, believe, believe, believe
Believe, believe, believe, believe
Believe, believe, believe, believe
Believe, believe, believe, believe
Believe, believe, believe, believe
Ugh
Hey
Ugh
Hey, hey, hey
Oh
Yea, yea, yeah
Yeah
Well I was born an original sinner
I was born from original sin
And if I had a dollar bill for all the things I've done
There'd be a mountain of money
Money, money, money, money
Money, money, money, money
Money, money, money, money
Money, money, money, money
Money, money, money, money
No, don't mess with him no, no
Oh baby
Don't mess with a missionary man
Oh
Please
Don't you mess with him no, no
Don't you mess with a that man
Ahh, oho ho
Hey yeah

This is a horrible Halloween song

Well if you are ever making a mix cd about missionaries this song would be great. I'm sure this song has a lot of meaning for the dude who wrote it. Him and only him. For the rest of us we are left with this thought. "Okay what's for lunch" maybe there is a deeper meaning in the whole idea that missionaries try to force their ideas on you and the songwriter feels that isn't cool. And he wants to be free to have his own thoughts and all that stuff. And that's good. I'm all for freedom of the individual but what makes him think people would want to hear a song about it? Then again why not write a song about it? If he feels it's important then knock yourself out. Go for it. Just don't expect me to like it. I will say this though. Annie Lennox has an amazing voice and the euthrimics created a really awesome sound. But their talent is wasted on this one. Maybe not wasted but missionaries as the subject of a song is about as interesting to me as a song about the prices of gasoline

The "dude" you refer to is Ms. Lennox herself. She has said in interviews that she wrote the song because she once dated a Christian religious fanatic. Your idea of what makes art universal is BRO-KEN as in you are obviously a BRO and likely think that being a male means looking and acting like KEN ie having an empty yet handsome plastic head. Hey! Pirate Aggro why do you let these people run rampant in your blog? Do you know them? Why not block them so the rest of us can enjoy the posts?
