Safe & Sound by Capital Cities

I could lift you up
I could show you what you wanna see
And take you where you wanna be

You could be my luck
Even if the sky is falling down
I know that we'll be safe and sound

We're safe and sound

I could fill your cup
You know my river won't evaporate
This world we still appreciate

You could be my luck
Even in a hurricane of frowns
I know that we'll be safe and sound

Safe and sound
We're safe and sound
Safe and sound
We're safe and sound
Hold your ground
We're safe and sound
Safe and sound

I could show you love
In a tidal wave of mystery
You'll still be standing next to me

You could be my luck
Even if we're six feet underground
I know that we'll be safe and sound

We're safe and sound

Safe and sound
Safe and sound
Hold your ground
Safe and sound

I could lift you up
I could show you what you wanna see
And take you where you wanna be

You could be my luck
Even if the sky is falling down
I know that we'll be safe and sound

I could lift you up
I could show you what you wanna see
And take you where you wanna be

You could be my luck
Even if the sky is falling down
I know that we'll be safe and sound

We're safe and sound
We're safe and sound
We're safe and sound
We're safe and sound

Safe and sound
We're safe and sound
Safe and sound
We're safe and sound
Hold your ground
We're safe and sound
Safe and sound
We're safe and sound

Why do songwriters allow their songs to be butchered by bad music videos? Okay the lyrics go this song are not the greatest. But they are above average. It's a fairly sweet message at least. Then the song is pretty much ruined by adding the music but they made damn sure to destroy all remnants of song integrity by adding the music video to go with the lame music. Admittedly the visuals are well done and creative. And it's even kinda charming and fun. But the whole video is totally disconnected from the lyrics of the song. The only thing the director seemed to get from the song was that somehow safe and sound meant crash test dummies. Not sure that's quite what the song means. I would not watch this again unless I was forced to by gunpoint.

Yes it seemed they were going for the cute factor.
