Bridge Over Troubled Water by Paul Simon

When you're weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all
I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on, silvergirl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

SUCH A GREAT PERFORMANCE... THIS SONG HAS ALAYS GIVEN ME GREAT COMFORT

Man. What an awesome song. love this. He says when he wrote it he felt like something had changed in his songwriting. He just sat down and it came out. It seems that way when you listen to it. Like pure inspiration. Paul Simon is one of my favorite artists. But lately there has been so much info about him being exposed. He is apparently one of the lamest dudes alive. I guess his whole life he has been a total cocksucker. Which is sad. And hard to believe when you hear his amazing songs. Makes me sad. People are lame. So lame

Yeah, this is an amazing song, on par with the greats

It still gives me the chills sometimes

This song alone would make an artist great, and then you pull out their greatest hits....Damn!

I have a distinct memory of recording this song off my dad's record player in the same room we recorded 'Mission' in

That's too bad Paul's a hobgoblin, some people are lame

I guess we'll just have to remember the good times & the goosebumps

As Berv and I discussed at length, you must separate the artist from their art. The art must stand by itself. Someday the artist will be dead and they will remain that way for a long time. Shakespeare has not written one damn word since he died 400 years ago. We may want to know all about him and speculate on what kind of a dude he was, but Hamlet must stand on his own merits.

Simon has always given me a jackass vibe. But it should not detract from his songwriting. Some of the best in the past 50 years or more. I believe he is of the ilk of Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Jackasses all from what I have heard. But brilliant songwriters.

Since Simon is lame I will no longer listen to his music. Or any other music. He ruined me
