Call Me by Blondie

Colour me your colour, baby
Colour me your car
Colour me your colour, darling
I know who you are
Come up off your colour chart
I know where you're comin' from
Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me) my love
You can call me any day or night
Call me
Cover me with kisses, baby
Cover me with love
Roll me in designer sheets
I'll never get enough
Emotions come, I don't know why
Cover up love's alibi
Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me) oh my love
When you're ready we can share the wine
Call me
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, he speaks the languages of love
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, amore, chiamami, chiamami
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, appelle-moi mon cherie, appelle-moi
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any way
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any day-ay
Call me (call me) my love
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me) for a ride
Call me, call me for some overtime
Call me (call me) my love
Call me, call me in a sweet design
Call me (call me), call me for your lover's lover's alibi
Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me)
Oh, call me, oo-hoo-hah
Call me (call me) my love
Call me, call me any, anytime

THE WOMAN CAN STILL ROCK... AND SHE WEARS A COAT THAT SAYS STOP FUC*ING THE PLANET...

What does it mean to “color me your car”?
Does she want to be painted the same color as the dude’s car that she is trying to bang? That don’t make no sense. If this song were written today it would be called “Text Me”. Cuz people don’t call each other anymore. I work with a girl who is 25 years old and she doesn’t even know how to use her cell phone for calling. She literally said to me “the only people I know who use their phones for calling are old people”. Fuck

Imagine what would happen if, somehow, cellphones suddenly become obsolete

Land lines became the norm again

The younger generation wouldn't know how to cope

And we would simply go back to old school rules

I could do it -

- but I'd miss the camera

I do dig Blondie though - they have some good tunes

Did you know they put out an album last year?

Where have I been?

She was the first lady I ever heard rapping - 'Rapture'

And 'The Tide is High' is such a happy island song

I've always liked 'Call Me'

& always wondered if her phone rang relentlessly once this song was popular

I'm betting she got a second line at some point

'One Way or Another' & 'Heart of Glass'

Damn Blondie - you're special
