This was Dee Dee Ramone's brief stint in rap music
Eeeeh it's rough, and so is his German, but I'll give him a B for effort, it was the 80's
Did you know he was the main songwriter and started as the singer for the Ramones?
But he found he couldn't sing and play bass at the same time
So he handed singing over to the original drummer Joey Ramone
This song is like a cross between the songs Der Kommisar, 99 Luft Balloons & Rapture
But recorded on his Casio in his basement
the only excuse i can think of is Dee Dee just got out of rehab when he wrote and recorded this. He obviously was not totally sane yet. The producers of this album should have done the responsible thing and not allowed him to record anything. But when has a music producer ever once done the responsible thing? I think he eventually came to his senses and put the rap ambitions to sleep. but then he died of a drug overdose. typical. and sad.
I think it's good that artists explore other genres and experiment. Well, it CAN be good. it's interesting to listen to this and imagine what exactly he was going for. amazing.
