The American Way by The Simpsons

[Shary Bobbins]
If there's a task that must be done,
Don't turn your tail and run
Don't pout! Don't sob!
Just do a half-assed job!
If you cut every corner,
It's really not so bad.
Everybody does it,
Even Mum and Dad.
If nobody see it, then nobody gets mad!
[Bart] It's the American way!
[Shary Bobbins] The policeman on the beat needs some time to rest his feet.
[Chief Wiggum] Fighting crime is not my cup of tea!
[Shary Bobbins] And the clerk who runs the store can charge a little more for meat!
[Apu] For meat
[Shary Bobbins] And milk
[Apu] And milk!
[Shary Bobbins & Apu]
From nineteen-eighty-four!
[Shary Bobbins] If you cut every corner, you'll have more time for play!
[Shary Bobbins & the Simpsons] It's the American way!

I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying by Sting

Seven weeks have passed now since she left me
And she shows her face to ask me how I am.
She says the kids are fine and that they miss me,
Maybe I could come and babysit sometime.
She says "Are you ok? I was worried about you,
Can you forgive me? I hope that you'll be happy."
I said "I'm so happy that I can't stop crying,
I'm so happy, I'm laughing through my tears."
I saw a friend of mine. He said "I was worried about you,
I heard she had another man. I wondered how you felt about it"
I'm so happy that I can't stop crying,
I'm so happy I'm laughing through my tears.
Saw my lawyer, Mr. Good News
He got me joint custody and legal separation.
I'm so happy that I can't stop crying,
I'm laughing through my tears, I'm laughing through my tears.
I can't stop crying, I'm laughing through my tears,
I'm laughing through my tears.
I took a walk along last night, I looked up at the stars,
To try and find an answer in my life.
I chose a star for me, I chose a star for him,
I chose two stars for my kids and one star for my wife.
Something made me smile, something seemed to ease the pain,
Something 'bout the universe and how it's all connected.
The park is full of Sunday fathers and melted ice cream.
We try to do the best within the given time.
A kid should be with his mother, everybody knows that,
What can a father do but babysit sometimes.
I saw that friend of mine, he said "you look different somehow."
I said "everybody's got to leave the darkness sometimes."
I said, "I'm so happy that I can't stop crying,
I'm laughing through my tears, I'm laughing through my tears."
"I'm so happy that I can't stop crying,
I'm laughing through my tears, I'm laughing through my tears."

I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner

I gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I'm older

Now this mountain I must climb
Feels like a world upon my shoulders
I through the clouds I see love shine
It keeps me warm as life grows colder

In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

I'm gonna take a little time
A little time to look around me
I've got nowhere left to hide
It looks like love has finally found me

In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
I can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
And I wanna feel, I want to feel what love is
And I know, I know you can show me

Let's talk about love
I wanna know what love is, the love that you feel inside
I want you to show me, and I'm feeling so much love
I wanna feel what love is, no, you just cannot hide
I know you can show me, yeah

I wanna know what love is, let's talk about love
I want you to show me, I wanna feel it too
I wanna feel what love is, I want to feel it too
And I know and I know, I know you can show me
Show me love is real, yeah
I wanna know what love is...

I FORGOT THIS SONG EVEN EXISTED EVEN THOUGH IT PLAYED ON THE RADIO ABOUT A THOUSAND TIMES A DAY WHEN I WAS IN JUNIOR HIGH

Hey Nineteen by Steely Dan

Way back when
In Sixty-seven
I was the dandy
Of Gamma Chi
Sweet things from Boston
So young and willing
Moved down to Scarsdale
Where the hell am I
Hey Nineteen
No we can't dance together
No we can't talk at all
Please take me along
When you slide on down

Hey Nineteen
That's 'Retha Franklin
She don't remember
The Queen of Soul
It's hard times befallen
The Soul Survivors
She thinks I'm crazy
But I'm just growing old

Hey Nineteen
No we got nothing in common
No we can't talk at all
Please take me along
When you slide on down

Nice
Sure looks good
Mmm-mmm-mmm
Skate a little lower now

The Cuervo Gold
The fine Colombian
Make tonight a wonderful thing

The Cuervo Gold
The fine Colombian
Make tonight a wonderful thing

The Cuervo Gold
The fine Colombian
Make tonight a wonderful thing

No we can't dance together
No we can't talk at all

WELL DUDE... IF YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE OLD IN 81 YOU SURE AS SHIT ARE OLD NOW THIRTY-SIX YEARS LATER. THAT IS THE IRONY OF SONGS LIKE THIS. YOU SING ABOUT GETTING OLDER... THEN YOU GET OLD... AND NO ONE REALLY DOES WANT TO LISTEN TO YOU ANY MORE BECAUSE OUR SOCIETY IS SO OBSESSED WITH YOUTH.

Tits by Sparks

Harry, it's good of you to stay
Hear every word I say
And not just duck away
God, these drinks are something warm and watered down
Barkeep, how 'bout some ice
Hey, Harry sit back down
Say, that little thing there's fine from behind
They all look good after three or four,
So drink Harry, drink Harry,
Drink 'til you can't see no more
Of anything, no more of anything
Drink Harry, drink Harry, drink 'til you can't see no more
For months, for years,
Tits were once a source of fun and games at home
And now she says, tits are only there to feed our little Joe
So that he'll grow
Harry, it's really rough at home
I've caught her on the phone
Hey, who's that on the phone?
"Oh, that's no one dear",
The standard sort of line
Harry, you know me well,
You know that I'm not blind
Hey, you ain't been drinking
Don't you know I'm buying?
They all taste good after three or four
So drink Harry, drink Harry, drink 'til you can't drink no more
Of anything, no more of anything
Drink Harry, drink 'til you can't drink no more
How well I know
Tits were only there for fun and games at home
And now she says, tits are only there to feed our little Joe
So that he'll grow
God, the room is spinning round
Hey, drive me home old pal
God, you sure get around
Harry, I know it's you who's breaking up my home
Harry, don't say a word, just drop me off at home
Harry, forgive me Harry, let's have just one more
It's all so good after three or four
It's all so good after three or four
It's all so good after three or four
So let's drink Harry, drink 'til we can't drink no more
Of anything, no more of anything
Drink Harry, drink Harry, drink 'til we can't drink no more
How well I know
Tits were once a source of fun and games at home
And now she says, tits are only there to feed our little Joe
So that he'll grow into a man
So let's drink Harry, drink 'til we can't see no more

Is This Love by Bob Marley

I wanna love you and treat you right;
I wanna love you every day and every night:
We'll be together with a roof right over our heads;
We'll share the shelter of my single bed;
We'll share the same room, yeah! - for Jah provide the bread.
Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
I wanna know - wanna know - wanna know now!
I got to know - got to know - got to know now!

I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I - I'm willing and able,
So I throw my cards on your table!
I wanna love you - I wanna love and treat - love and treat you right;
I wanna love you every day and every night:
We'll be together, yeah! - with a roof right over our heads;
We'll share the shelter, yeah, oh now! - of my single bed;
We'll share the same room, yeah! - for Jah provide the bread.

Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
Wo-o-o-oah! Oh yes, I know; yes, I know - yes, I know now!
Yes, I know; yes, I know - yes, I know now!

I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I - I'm willing and able,
So I throw my cards on your table!
See: I wanna love ya, I wanna love and treat ya -
love and treat ya right.
I wanna love you every day and every night:
We'll be together, with a roof right over our heads!
We'll share the shelter of my single bed;
We'll share the same room, yeah! Jah provide the bread.
We'll share the shelter of my single bed -

DUDE IN A MONTH OR TWO YOU ARE GOING TO WISH YOU HAD A BIGGER BED. A SINGLE BED FOR TWO IS OKAY FOR A WHILE BUT THEN YOU GET TO THE POINT WHERE YOU NEED SOME SPACE. BTW THERE IS A FAMOUS SUPERMODEL IN THIS VIDEO. SHE IS ONE OF THE CHILDREN.

Take the Skinheads Bowling by Camper Van Beethoven

Every day, I get up and pray to Jah
And he decreases the number of clocks by exactly one
Everybody's comin' home for lunch these days
Last night there were skinheads on my lawn
Take the skinheads bowling
Take them bowling
Take the skinheads bowling
Take them bowling
Some people say that bowling alleys got big lanes
Some people say that bowling alleys all look the same
There's not a line that goes here that rhymes with anything
I has a dream last night, but I forget what it was
I had a dream last night about you, my friend
I had a dream--I wanted to sleep next to plastic
I had a dream--I wanted to lick your knees
I had a dream--it was about nothing

WOW.... WOW... THIS PERFECTLY CAPTURES HIGHSCHOOL SONGWRITING. AND YES WE SHOULD TAKE THEM BOWLING.

Exhuming McCarthy by R.E.M.

You're beautiful more beautiful than me
You're honorable more honorable than me
Loyal to the Bank of America
It's a sign of the times
It's a sign of the times
You're sharpening stones walking on coals
To improve your business acumen.
Sharpening stones walking on coals
To improve your business acumen.
Vested interest united ties landed gentry rationalize
Look who bought the myth by jingo buy America
It's a sign of the times
It's a sign of the times
You're sharpening stones, walking on coals
To improve your business acumen.
Sharpening stones, walking on coals,
To improve your business acumen.
Enemy sighted, enemy met, I'm addressing the realpolitik
Look who bought the myth, by jingo, buy America
"Let us not assassinate this man further Senator,
You've done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir?
At long last, have you left no sense of decency?"
We're sharpening stones, walking on coals
To improve your business acumen.
Sharpening stones, walking on coals,
To improve your business acumen.
Enemy sighted, enemy met, I'm addressing the realpolitik
You've seen start and you've seen quit
(I'm addressing the table of content)
I always thought of you as quick

Roads by Portishead

Oh, can't anybody see
We've got a war to fight
Never found our way
Regardless of what they say
How can it feel, this wrong
From this moment
How can it feel, this wrong
Storm, in the morning light
I feel, no more can I say
Frozen to myself
I got nobody on my side
And surely that ain't right
And surely that ain't right
Oh, can't anybody see
We've got a war to fight
Never found our way
Regardless of what they say
How can it feel, this wrong
From this moment
How can it feel, this wrong
How can it feel, this wrong
From this moment
How can it feel, this wrong
Oh, can't anybody see
We've got a war to fight
Never found our way
Regardless of what they say
How can it feel, this wrong
From this moment
How can it feel, this wrong

How You Remind Me by Nickelback

Never made it as a wise man
I couldn't cut it as
A poor man stealing
Tired of living like a blind man
I'm sick of sight without
A sense of feeling
And this is how you remind me
This is how you remind me
Of what I really am
This is how you remind me
Of what I really am
It's not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you
A heart worth breaking
And I've been wrong
I've been down
Into the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Scream
Are we having fun yet?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no
It's not like you didn't know that
I said I love you and
I swear I still do
And it must have been so bad
Cause living with him must have
Damn near killed you
And this is how you remind me
Of what I really am
This is how you remind me
Of what I really am
It's not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you
A heart worth breaking
And I've been wrong
I've been down
Into the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Scream
Are we having fun yet?
Yeah, yeah, yet, no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no
Never made it as a wise man
I couldn't cut it as
A poor man stealing
And this is how you remind me
This is how you remind me
This is how you remind me
Of what I really am
This is how you remind me
Of what I really am
It's not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you
A heart worth breaking
And I've been wrong
I've been down
Into the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Scream
Are we having fun yet?
Yeah, yeah
Are we having fun yet?
Yeah, yeah
Are we having fun yet?
Yeah, yeah
Are we having fun yet?
Yeah, yeah, no, no

The End is the Beginning is The End By Smashing Pumpkins

The sewers belch me up
The heavens spit me out
From Ether's tragic I am born again
And now I'm with you now
Inside your world of wow
To move in desires made of deadly pretends
Till the end times begin
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you're so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame
You can watch the world devoured in it's pain
Strange
Climb my ribcage to
The replays run for you
Unhook my lights to peek behind the flash
For I am crystal chrome
I am shatter dome
I am Kremlin king of angels avenged
To destroy the end
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you're so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame
You can watch the world devoured in it's pain
The zeppelins rain upon us
The guns of love disastrous
A shadow lies amongst you
To defy the future cast
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you're so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame
You can watch the world devoured in it's pain
Strange
Strange

Wilderness Song by Dan Bern

I have been one who loved the wilderness
And crept between the mountain peaks
I have listened long to the sea’s brave music
On canyon trails, where the night winds were a’blowin
Blowing, sighin gently thru the pines
Musing, I walked behind my placid burro
While water rushed and broke on the rocks below
I sang my songs above the shriek of desert winds
Above the shriek of desert winds I sang my songs
I have known a green sea’s heaving,
I have loved the twisted trees
Red sand a blowin neath the turquoise skies
I have felt the rain a driftin, and slept behind the waterfall
And aspen glades that whisper wild sorrows
In cool sweet grasses I have lain and I have heard
The ghostly murmur of regret
I sang my songs above the shriek of desert winds
Above the shriek of desert winds I sang my songs
I have watched the clouds pile high
Singing I rode to meet the storm
And fought its fury til the sun fell in darkness
And the lightning heard my song
Say that I starved, say I’s lost and I was weary
Say that I was burned and blinded by the sun
Say that I was thirsty, sick and cold and lonely
But say that I kept to my dream
Always shall I be one who loves the wilderness
Swaggers soft between the mountain peaks
I shall sing my song above the shriek of desert winds
Above the shriek of desert winds I shall sing my song

I BELIEVE IN WILDERNESS. I LONG FOR IT AND ITS HEALING POWERS. I ALSO REALIZE I AM IN WILDERNESS RIGHT NOW. PERHAPS NEVER TO COME OUT. PERHAPS JUST TO RUN AROUND IN THE WOODS LIKE JOHN EATHING HONEY COMB AND LOCUSTS.

Gravitie's Rainbow by Klaxons

Come on with me through ruined lipglock
Across Tangian deserts, we'll flock
Madcap Medusa, flank my foghorn
We'll change four seasons with our first born
All ships of sense on hyper ocean
All kites of chaos, still in motion
My culture vulture, such a dab hand
I'll steal you from the year 4000
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
I'll always be there, oh, oh, my future love
I'll always be there for you, my future love
Your tears leave trails of [Incomprehensible]
Autonoma, the [Incomprehensible]
Most crippled lines that I can't get to
You'd slip through time but I won't let you
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
I'll always be there, oh, oh, my future love
I'll always be there for you, my future love
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
I'll always be there, oh, oh, my future love
I'll always be there for you, my future love
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
I'll always be there, oh, oh, my future love
I'll always be there for you, my future love
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
Come with me, come with me, we'll travel to infinity
I'll always be there, oh, oh, my future love
I'll always be there for you, my future love

You Love Me by Devotchka

Under the mothering eyes of the Mexican sky
She was happy and it shows in the sun
And it was fate laid in stone
Sacred heart, sacred ground
Her two children and we moved as one

And you said you loved me
You said you loved me

Now there’s something missing
when you’re kissing me
It’s subtle yet it’s gone
And then I’m suspicious
And then it gets vicious
And then it’s a hole right through the heart

And you said you loved me
I thought you loved me

Now there is an ocean of time
Between your life and mine
You look happy and you’re married again
And Oh my Lord how you’ve grown
To find me still alone
I am humble
I’m still trying to forget

When you said you loved me
I thought you loved me

WELL... THAT WILL TEACH HIM.

A Dream by Common

(I am happy...I Have a Dream) I got a Dream
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out out out
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out out out
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out
(I Have a Dream) I got a Dream
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out out out
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out out out
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out
(I Have a Dream) I got a Dream
(That One Day) That one day
(That One Day) I'ma look deep within myself
(I Have a Dream) I gotta find a way...
My Dream Is To Be Free
My Dream Is To Be
My Dream Is To Be
My Dream Is To Be Free

[Verse 1:]
In search of brighter days, I ride through the maze of the madness,
Struggle is my address, where pain and crack lives,
Gunshots comin' from sounds of Blackness,
Given this game with no time to practice,
Born on the Black list, told I'm below average,
A life with no cabbage,
That's no money if you from where I'm from,
Funny, I just want some of your sun,
Dark clouds seem to follow me,
Alcohol that my pops swallowed bottled me,
No apology, I walk with a boulder on my shoulder,
It's a Cold War - I'm a colder soldier,
Hold the same fight that made Martin Luther the King,
I ain't usin' it for the right thing,
In between Lean and the fiends, hustle and the schemes,
I put together pieces of a Dream
I still have one

[Chorus]

[Verse 2:]
The world's seen me lookin' in the mirror,
Images of me, gettin' much clearer,
Dear Self, I wrote a letter just to better my soul,
If I don't express it then forever I'll hold, inside
I'm from a side where we out of control,
Rap music in the 'hood played a fatherly role,
My story's like yours, yo it gotta be told,
Tryna make it from a gangsta to a godlier role,
Read scrolls and stow slaves,
And Jewish people in cold cage,
Hate has no color or age, flip the page,
Now my rage became freedom,
Writin' dreams in the dark, they far but I can see 'em,
I believe in Heaven more than Hell,
Blessings more than jail,
In the ghetto let love prevail,
With a story to tell, my eyes see the glory and well,
The world waitin' for me to yell "I Have a Dream"

[Chorus]

IT IS A VERY DARK TIME MLK. BUT I STILL BELIEVE YOUR WORDS. THE ARCH OF THE UNIVERSE IS LONG BUT IT BENDS TOWARD JUSTICE.

What Would You Say by The Dave Matthews Band

Up and down the puppies' hair
Fleas and ticks jump everywhere
'Cause of original sin
Down the hill fell Jack and Jill
And you came tumbling after
'Cause of original sin

Rip away the tears
Drink a hope to happy years
And you may find
A lifetime's passed you by

What would you say
Don't drop the big one
If you a monkey on a string
Don't cut my lifeline
If you a doggie on a chain
Don't bite the mailman
What would you say

I was there when the bear
Are his head, thought it was a candy
Everyone goes in the end
Knock knock on the door
Who's it for, there's nobody in here
Look in the mirror my friend

I don't understand at best
And cannot speak for all the rest
In the morning rise
A lifetime's passed me by

What would you say
Don't drop the big one
If you a monkey on a string
Don't cut my lifeline
If you a doggie on a chain
Don't bite the mailman
What would you say

Every dog has its day every day has its way
Of being forgotten -
Mom it's my birthday
What would you say

THIS SONG AND THIS ALBUM REMIND ME OF SANTA FE SUMMER 1995

I'll Stick Around by Foo Fighters

I thought I knew all it took to bother you
Every word I said was true that you'll see
How could it be I'm the only one who sees your rehearsed insanity
I still refuse all the methods you've abused
It's all right if you're confused let me be
I've been around all the pawns
You've gagged and bound
They'll come back and knock you down and I'll be free
I've taken all and I've endured
One day it all will fade
I'm sure
I don't owe you anything
I had no other hand in your ever desperate plan
It returns and when it lands words are due
I should've known we were better off alone
I looked in and I was shown
You were too
I've taken all and I've endured
One day it all will fade
I'm sure
I don't owe you anything
I'll stick around and learn from all that came from it

You Should Consider Having Sex With a Bearded Man by The Beards

You catch his eye, from across the room you catch his eye
You think ‘oh my, he’s got quite the beard, oh my’
And now you want to but you can’t look away
His beard is black and bushy with a hint of grey
And now you find yourself walking his way
Hey hey

You should consider having sex with a bearded man
You’re getting these feelings that you can’t understand
(Sex with a bearded man)
You think you can’t but you can
Don’t try to fight, just get freaky with a beard tonight

Don’t be scared, his beard is soft to the touch, don’t be scared
You get some hair, in your mouth when you kiss him you get some hair
You’ve never been with a man like him before
But each time you look at that beard, you want it more
And now he’s asking you, ”my place or yours?”
Good lord

You are about to have sex with a bearded man
He rubs his bristles on your mammary glands

(Sex with a bearded man)
This wasn’t part of the plan
Don’t try to fight, just get freaky with a beard tonight

And now you grab him by his facial hair
He’s got some food stuck in his beard but you don’t care
You say “rub that beard on me everywhere”
Oh yeah

Now it appears you’re having sex with a bearded man
His sweaty beard is drips like a watering can
(Sex with a bearded man)
Just take your life in your hands, and ride that bearded man

And he’ll leave you with a glint in your eye
A bit of loose beard hair on your bedside
And some pash-rash between your thighs, oh my
Congratulations you’ve had sex with a bearded man

11:59 (It's January) by Scrawl

January came too soon
Survived the holidays
Without you
But who are you
You are anyone I wish I knew
And tonight I wish I knew
Everyone single one of you

First day Champagne
Old acquaintances are far apart
Tonight Auld Lang Syne means
Leave before the kissing starts

Last year went down the drain
They all do really
Why complain
Drink a cup of kindness (yet)
And say goodbye to our regrets
Ooooh, it's January
Ooooh, it's January
Ooooh, it's January

11:59
8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1
Midnight
Was it a good year
Do I really need to know
'cause now it's behind me forever
It was a good year because it was such a bad year
That this year could only be better

Last year went down the drain
They all do really
Why complain
Drink a cup of kindness (yet)
(And) say goodbye to our regrets
Ooooh, it's January
Ooooh, it's January
Ooooh, it's January

But who are you
You are anyone I wish I knew
Tonight I wish I knew
Everyone single one of you
Tonight I wish I knew
Everyone single one of you
Tonight I wish I knew
Everyone single one of you

It's January
Everyone single one of you
(It's January)
Everyone single one of you
(It's January)
Everyone single one of you

January
(It's January)
January
(It's January)
January
(It's January)

Haunted, When the Minutes Drag by Love and Rockets

The word that would best describe this feeling
Would be haunted
I touch the clothes you left behind
That still retain your shape and lines
Still haunted
I trace the outline of your eyes
We're in the mirror hypnotized
I'm haunted
I find a solitary hair
Gone and still I reminisce
I'm haunted
Haunted by your soul
Haunted by your hair
Haunted by your clothes
Haunted by your eyes
By your soul, by your hair
By your clothes, by your eyes
By your voice, by your smile
By your mouth, by your soul
By your hair, by your clothes
By your eyes, by your voice
By your smile, by your mouth
By you soul
Haunted
So this is for when you feel happy
And this is for when you feel sad
And this is for when you feel
Nothing
Oh, when the minutes drag
Oh, when the minutes drag
And this is for the tears that won't dry
And this is for a bright blue sky
And this is for when you feel lucky
Oh, when the minutes drag
Oh, when the minues drag
So this is for when you feel happy again
And this is for when you're feeling sad
And this is for when you feel
Something
Oh, the minutes drag
Oh, the minutes drag

Faith by George Michael

Well I guess it would be nice
If I could touch your body
I know not everybody
Has got a body like you, uhh
But I've got to think twice
Before I give my heart away
And I know all the games you play
Because I play them too
Oh but I
Need some time off from that emotion
Time to pick my heart up off the floor
Oh when that love comes down
Without devotion
Well it takes a strong man, baby
But I'm showing you the door
'Cause I gotta have faith
I gotta faith
Because I gotta to have faith faith
I gotta to have faith, faith, faith
Baby
I know you're asking me to stay
Say please, please, please, don't go away
You say I'm giving you the blues
Maybe
You mean every word you say
Can't help but think of yesterday
And another who tied me down to lover boy rules
Before this river
Becomes an ocean
Before you throw my heart back on the floor
Oh baby I reconsider
My foolish notion
Well I need someone to hold me
But I wait for something more
Yes I've gotta have faith
Unh I gotta faith
Because I gotta to have faith, faith, faith
I gotta to have faith, faith, faith
I just got to wait
Because I got to have faith
I gotta have faith
I gotta, gotta, gotta have faith
Before this river
Becomes an ocean
Before you throw my heart back on the floor
Oh baby I reconsider
My foolish notion
Well I need someone to hold me
But I wait for something more
'Cause I've gotta have faith
Unh I gotta faith
Because I gotta to have faith, faith, faith
I gotta to have faith, faith, faith

Blue Christmas by Porky Pig

I'll have a Blue Christmas without you
I'll be so blue thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmastree
Won't be the same dear, if you're not here with me

And the when those blue snowflakes start fallin'
That's when those blue memories start callin'
You'll be doin' all right, with your Christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas

I GUESS IT USED TO BE OKAY TO MAKE FUN OF PEOPPLE WITH SPEECH IMPEDIMENTS. AND NOW WITH OUR NEW COMANDER IN CHIEF MAKING FUN OF HANDICAPED PEOPLE I GUESS IT IS AGAIN.

Beautiful Boy by John Lennon

Close your eyes,
Have no fear,
The monster's gone,
He's on the run
And your daddy's here,

 Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy,

 Before you go to sleep,
Say a little prayer,
Every day
In every way,
It's getting better and better,

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy,

Out on the ocean sailing away,
I can hardly wait
To see you to come of age,
But I guess we'll both
Just have to be patient,

'Cause it's a long way to go,
A hard row to hoe
Yes, it's a long way to go
But in the meantime,

Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is what happens to you,
While you're busy making other plans,

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy,

 Before you go to sleep,
Say a little prayer,
Every day
In every way,
It's getting better and better,

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy,

 Darling, darling,
Darling Sean.

I LOVE THIS SONG. IVE EVEN SUNG IT TO MY OWN SON. BUT IT ALSO MAKES ME SAD ON TWO LEVELS. FIRST JOHN DIDNT GET TO SEE HIS SON GROW UP. TWO, WHAT ABOUT JULIAN? DID JOHN ERASE HIS FIRST FAMILY?

IWish I Was Sober by Freightened Rabbit

Fall prey to the blizzard head
Wrapped my hand around the glass again
We all thought that I might change as I got older
Fell down and nothing bled
Wrapped in cotton alcohol again
To the hill hear from the prick upon my shoulder
Free pour the fruitless thoughts
It's far too late to talk so much but
Still not giving up though
I wish that I was sober

Forgive me I can't speak straight
Forgive me I can't
Forgive me it's far too late

Choke down the gateway drug
Opened the gates, in came the flood, it comes
Like a blush of love, it hits me without warning
Long nights of getting lost
I walk beneath the bridge I don't know
I need black suit for tomorrow, I'm in mourning

My love you should know
The best of me left hours ago so
Shove it right into my mouth and let me smolder
Fallout and the damage done
I can't un-sing the things I've sung
Still not giving up though
I wish that i was sober

Forgive me I can't speak straight
Forgive me I can't
Forgive me it's far too late

Oh come and shake me till I'm dry
Oh I wish that I was sober
Oh come to me and kill the night off
I wish that I was sober

Oh come and shake me till I'm dry
Oh I wish that I was sober
Oh come to me and kill the night off
I wish that I was sober

Don't Let Me Go by Shrek

Hey hey hey
Ya gotta let me go with you
You don't know what it's like to be considered a freak
Well maybe you do but that's why we gotta stick together
No no no, don't speak don't speak, don't speak
Just hear me out
I might surprise you
I'll be a friend when others despise you
Don't roll your eyes stop with the mopin'
You need a pal my calendar's open
I'll bring you soup when you feel congested
I'll bail you out when you get arrested
I got your back whe-whe-when when things get scary
And I'll shave it when it gets hairy
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go oh oh oh oh
You need me
You need me
I'll treat you right and never act shoddy
If you kill a man
I'll hide the body
Whadaya say?
You're not responding
I think we're bonding
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
You need me
You and me we belong together
Like butter and grits like kibbles and bits like yin and yang strum and drang
Like Eng and Chang attached at the hip
But not an old lady hip that might break
I'm gonna be on you like a fat kid on cake
Like Cupid and Psyche like Pop Rocks and Mikey
We'll stick together like that Velcro stuff
I'm the fuzzy side you'll be spiky
Ooh, like little kids and the pajamas with those funny things at the bottom
You know, feeties
Like donuts and
What goes with donuts?
Donuts and diabetes
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Hold me, hug me take me please
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah please don't let me go
I need you, I need you
I need you, I need you
I need you, I need you
I need you, I need you
I need you, I need you
I need you, I need you
I need you, I need you
I need you
Don't let me go go go
Don't let me g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-go

OKAY... THE MOVIE WAS OKAY... BUT HOLY CRAP!!!! IT HAS BEEN TAKEN WAY WAY WAY TOO FAR. HOLLYWOOD HAS TO SQUEEZE EVERY DROP OF POSSIBLE PROFIT FROM THE TEET OF CREATIVITY! THE RESULT IS A MUSICAL BASED ON A MOVIE THAT WAS JUST OKAY TO BEGIN WITH.

Let's Take A Walk by Raphael Saadiq

This place is crowded, don't know 'bout you
I need some sex, some sex with you 'cause you're on my mind
I can feel your sweat, your body's wet
And I need some help, girl you know what we need to do

Girl, let's take a walk outside
Let's take a walk outside
Let's talk a walk outside

I'm ready to go, go grab your coat
It's hard to hope, I'm dancing, let's go
The mood is right, the scene is bright
Help, don't you fight, I know the time is right
Girl, my lips is what I need you to have

Girl, let's take a walk outside
Let's take a walk outside
Girl, let's talk a walk outside
Girl, let's talk a walk

Let's take a walk, baby
Let's take a walk, baby
Let's take a walk

Listen now, don't you know
Looking happy anywhere
I know it's colder but I don't care

Let's talk a walk outside
Let's talk a walk outside
Not in my car, outside
You can scream my name
And you'd be glad you came

Let's take a walk
Walk, walk, walk, walk
A walk, walk, walk, walk

Baby, a walk, walk
Walk, walk, walk
A walk, walk, walk, walk

Baby, a walk, walk

WELL... YOU GOT TO GIVE IT TO THE GUY. HE DOESN'T BEAT AROUND THE BUSH, SO TO SPEAK, HE JUST PLUNGES RIGHT IN.

Lets Eat Shiitake Mushrooms by Let's Eat Grandma

And he was never invincible (On a shiitake grown island)
And he was never predictable (And he be rocking that boat)
And he was never invincible
And he was never predictable

And he was never invincible
And he was never predictable

Shiitake mushroom, how do you grow?
Enchant me with your glow
You were covered in stone, but you made it now

The water's contaminated with a peculiar illusion
Intoxicated with an electric infusion, intoxicate it
Let's have a chat to the music
We're syncopated cause I remember where to go
Getting in the zone
Move your body, and I had my head bowed
And it was like yo
'Cause I've been living in a buttoned down world
Bottletop girl
Butterscotch flavour, covered in grazes
Come out with his cuties that have blues in the making
Carry on, crazy
Tripping on papers, bet I got bubblegum stuck to my trainers
Admit it, rarity for the flow, I hit a domino
I came a couple, couple times, decapitate my toe
I'm now stuck in this crazed way

And he was never invincible (On a shiitake grown island)
And he was never predictable (And he be rocking that boat)

Shiitake mushroom, how do you grow?
Enchant me with your glow
You were covered in stone, but you made it now

And he was never invincible (On a shiitake grown island)
And he was never predictable (And he be rocking that boat)

Shiitake mushroom, how do you grow?
Enchant me with your glow
You were covered in stone, but you made it now

And he was never invincible
And he was never predictable

Shiitake mushroom, how do you grow?
Enchant me with your glow
You were covered in stone, but you made it now

I WENT OUT TO DINNER WITH MY FAMILY ONCE AND MY DAD LOOKED AT AN ITEM ON THE MENUE AND LEANED OVER AND WHISPERED "SHIT-ACHE." AND STARTED LAUGHING. WE LAUGHED THROUGH THE WHOLE MEAL AND EVERYONE WONDERED WHAT WE WERE LAUGHING ABOUT.

Armistice by Phoenix

Dahlias they come from me
A promise to get well
That ain’t working thinking that you’re no good
Don’t worry no I’m not the kind that kiss and tell

No Dahlias and Cherry-trees,
I don’t recall them anyway
Some lovers know it ain’t gonna wear out
To each his own the same
Look what you wasted

When the lights are cutting out
And I come down in your room
Our daily compromise
It is written in your signed armistice

And when the lights are cutting out
And I come down in your room
Well well decide as always
Here is your signed armistice

It’s time to follow, not to heat it up
Requesting this plane is a propeller
In the middle of the course when ambitions are low
Head-on close, hang on before you lose control

The octagon logo had to rip it up
The semaphore message on your lips
Some lovers know it ain’t gonna wear out
To each his own the same
What else is wasted ?

When the lights are cutting out
And I come down in your room
Our daily compromise
It is written in your signed armistice

And when the lights are cutting out
And I come down in your room
Well well decide as always
Here is your signed armistice

For lovers in a rush
For lovers always
Foreign lovers in a rush
Keeping promises
For lovers in a rush
For lovers always

PEOPLE OF FRANCE. PLEASE COMMENT. I GIVE YOU PHOENIX.

The Caterpiller by The Cure

Flicka flicka flicka
Here you are
Cata cata cata
Caterpillar girl
Flowing in
And filling up my hopeless heart
Oh never never go
Dust my lemon lies
With powder pink and sweet
The day I stop
Is the day you change
And fly away from me

You flicker
And you're beautiful
You glow inside my head
You hold me hynotized
I'm mesmerized
Your flames
The flames that kiss me dead

IM JUST A LITTLE CATERPILLER INSIDE A LITTLE FLOWER.

Lerning the Blues by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong

The tables are empty the dance floor's deserted
You play the same love song it's the tenth time you've heard it
That's the beginning just one of the clues
You've had your first lesson in learnin' the blues
The cigarettes you light one after another
Won't help you forget her and the way that you love her
You're only burning a torch you can't lose
But you're on the right track for learnin' the blues
When you're at home alone, the blues will taunt you - constantly
When you're out in a crowd, the blues will haunt your memory
The nights when you don't sleep the whole night you're crying
You just can't forget her soon you even stop trying
You'll walk the floor and wear out your shoes
When you feel your heart break you're learnin' the blues

Slummville Suprise by Jake Bugg

The wind keeps beating on my window. I haven't slept all night.
That drum just keeps on banging.
They must be buzzin' out their minds
Like bees in a hive
Tell me when the morning arrives.

This place is just not for me
I say it all the time.
My friends they just ignore me.
Tell me nevermind,
Waiting all your life for the Slumville Sunrise.

Slumville Sunrise.
Nobody cares or looks twice.
Shout away in the morning across this place where I was born in.
Every bruise, every flower illuminated by the dawning.

My face upon the concrete,
The dirt is in my mouth.
I clench my fist and feet.
I'm tryna cry out loud.
Make a sound, something is keeping me down.

This place is just not for me
I say it a thousand times
My friends they just ignore me.
Tell me nevermind
Waiting all your life for the Slumville Sunrise.

Slumville Sunrise
Nobody cares or looks twice.
Shout away in the morning across this place where I was born in.
Every bruise, every flower illuminated by the dawning.

[Guitar solo]

This place is just not for me
I say it all the time
My friends they just ignore me.
Tell me nevermind.
Waiting all your life for the Slumville Sunrise.

Slumville Sunrise.
Nobody cares or looks twice.
Shout away in the morning across this place where I was born in.
Every bruise, every flower illuminated by the dawning.
Every bruise, every flower illuminated by the dawning.

WELL... THIS KID DOESNT KNOW YET THAT WHEREVER YOU ARE... THERE YOU ARE... THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE "RIGHT PLACE" HE'LL FIRURE IT OUT SOME DAY MAYBE.

With You by David Bazan

I might have found someone who could love me
I might have found someone true
But I turn around, my life's half over
And I'm with you
I'm with you

You might have found someone with better genetics
You might have found someone not so blue
You might have found someone who didn't inspire you
To be untrue
To be untrue

Self-loathing
Paranoia
Jet lag
Alcohol
Bad dream
Long-distance calls
Babe, I don't feel well at all
Babe, I don't feel well at all

The power's out in our first apartment
I'm on the couch worried that we're through
But when the lights come on, I'm really under the covers
And I'm with you
I'm with you

Alexander Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda

[AARON BURR:] How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a
Scotsman, dropped in the middle of a forgotten
Spot in the Caribbean by providence, impoverished, in squalor
Grow up to be a hero and a scholar?

[JOHN LAURENS:]
The ten-dollar Founding Father without a father
Got a lot farther by working a lot harder
By being a lot smarter
By being a self-starter
By fourteen, they placed him in charge of a trading charter

[THOMAS JEFFERSON:]
And every day while slaves were being slaughtered and carted
Away across the waves, he struggled and kept his guard up
Inside, he was longing for something to be a part of
The brother was ready to beg, steal, borrow, or barter

[JAMES MADISON:]
Then a hurricane came, and devastation reigned
Our man saw his future drip, dripping down the drain
Put a pencil to his temple, connected it to his brain
And he wrote his first refrain, a testament to his pain

[BURR:]
Well, the word got around, they said, “This kid is insane, man”
Took up a collection just to send him to the mainland
“Get your education, don't forget from whence you came, and
The world's gonna know your name. What's your name, man?”

[ALEXANDER HAMILTON:]
Alexander Hamilton
My name is Alexander Hamilton
And there's a million things I haven't done
But just you wait, just you wait...

[ELIZA HAMILTON:]
When he was ten his father split, full of it, debt-ridden
Two years later, see Alex and his mother bed-ridden
Half-dead sittin' in their own sick, the scent thick

[FULL COMPANY EXCEPT HAMILTON (whispering):]
And Alex got better but his mother went quick

[GEORGE WASHINGTON (COMPANY):]
Moved in with a cousin, the cousin committed suicide
Left him with nothin' but ruined pride, something new inside
A voice saying: "You gotta fend for yourself." ("Alex, you gotta fend for yourself.")
He started retreatin' and readin' every treatise on the shelf

[BURR (COMPANY):]
There would have been nothin' left to do
For someone less astute
He woulda been dead or destitute
Without a cent of restitution
Started workin', clerkin' for his late mother's landlord
Tradin' sugar cane and rum and all the things he can't afford
Scammin' (scammin') for every book he can get his hands on
Plannin' (plannin') for the future see him now as he stands on (oooh...)
The bow of a ship headed for a new land
In New York you can be a new man

[COMPANY (HAMILTON):]
In New York you can (just you wait) be a new man
In New York you can (just you wait) be a new man
In New York you can be a new man
[WOMEN:] In New York
[MEN:] New York
[HAMILTON:] Just you wait!

[COMPANY:]
Alexander Hamilton (Alexander Hamilton)
We are waiting in the wings for you (waiting in the wings for you)
You could never back down
You never learned to take your time!
Oh, Alexander Hamilton (Alexander Hamilton)
When America sings for you
Will they know what you overcame?
Will they know you rewrote the game?
The world will never be the same, oh

[BURR:]
The ship is in the harbor now
See if you can spot him ([MEN:] Just you wait)
Another immigrant
Comin' up from the bottom ([COMPANY:] Just you wait)
His enemies destroyed his rep
America forgot him

[MULLIGAN/MADISON & LAFAYETTE/JEFFERSON:]
We fought with him

[LAURENS/PHILIP:]
Me? I died for him

[WASHINGTON:]
Me? I trusted him

[ELIZA & ANGELICA & PEGGY/MARIA:]
Me? I loved him

[BURR:]
And me? I'm the damn fool that shot him

[COMPANY:]
There's a million things I haven't done
But just you wait!

[BURR:]
What's your name, man?

[COMPANY:]
Alexander Hamilton!

PENCE WENT TO HAMILTON AND GOT SCHOOLED! POWNED!

The Perfect Day by Lou Reed

Just a perfect day
Drink sangria in the park
And then later, when it gets dark
We go home

Just a perfect day
Feed animals in the zoo
Then later a movie, too
And then home

Oh, it's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spent it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on

Just a perfect day
Problems all left alone
Weekenders on our own
It's such fun

Just a perfect day
You made me forget myself
I thought I was someone else
Someone good

Oh, it's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spent it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on

You're going to reap just what you sow
You're going to reap just what you sow
You're going to reap just what you sow
You're going to reap just what you sow

The Captain by Leonard Cohen

Now the Captain called me to his bed
He fumbled for my hand
"Take these silver bars," he said
"I'm giving you command."
"Command of what, there's no one here
There's only you and me --
All the rest are dead or in retreat
Or with the enemy."
"Complain, complain, that's all you've done
Ever since we lost
If it's not the Crucifixion
Then it's the Holocaust."
"May Christ have mercy on your soul
For making such a joke
Amid these hearts that burn like coal
And the flesh that rose like smoke."

"I know that you have suffered, lad,
But suffer this awhile:
Whatever makes a soldier sad
Will make a killer smile."
"I'm leaving, Captain, I must go
There's blood upon your hand
But tell me, Captain, if you know
Of a decent place to stand."

"There is no decent place to stand
In a massacre;
But if a woman take your hand
Go and stand with her."
"I left a wife in Tennessee
And a baby in Saigon --
I risked my life, but not to hear
Some country-western song."

"Ah but if you cannot raise your love
To a very high degree,
Then you're just the man I've been thinking of --
So come and stand with me."
"Your standing days are done," I cried,
"You'll rally me no more.
I don't even know what side
We fought on, or what for."

"I'm on the side that's always lost
Against the side of Heaven
I'm on the side of Snake-eyes tossed
Against the side of Seven.
And I've read the Bill of Human Rights
And some of it was true
But there wasn't any burden left
So I'm laying it on you."

Now the Captain he was dying
But the Captain wasn't hurt
The silver bars were in my hand
I pinned them to my shirt.

ALMOST NO SONG SO PERFECTY CAPTURES THE MADNESS OF OUR TIME. RIP MR. COHEN. AS I SAID BEFORE, SOMEONE NEEDS TO START A RELIGION WITH YOUR SONG LYRICS AS ITS SCRIPTURE.

Beautiful Words by Oscar

can you really walk away
the symptoms are in vain
need to stay at just one place
the memories are irascible
i just wanna feel beautiful words
beautiful words returning
but all that you can say is you haven’t found
you haven’t found the beautiful word
who are you now if this aways
confused you are so taste
in fate your inner must debate
you’re after walk to stay, cause
i just wanna feel beautiful words
beautiful words returning
but all that you can say is you haven’t found
you haven’t found the beautiful words
i just wanna feel beautiful words
beautiful words returning
but all that you can say is you haven’t found
you haven’t found the beautiful words
i’m on way, i’m on way for you to say beautiful words
to me, to me, to me, to me
i’m on way, i’m on way for you to say beautiful words
to me, to me, to me, to me
i just wanna feel beautiful words
beautiful words returning
but all that you can say is you haven’t found
you haven’t found the beautiful words
i just wanna feel beautiful words
beautiful words returning
but all that you can say is you haven’t found
you haven’t found the beautiful words
i’m on way, i’m on way for you to say beautiful words
to me, to me, to me, to me

Liars by Gregory Alan Isakov

you take the big one
and i’ll take his brother
let’s get this over with
’cause i’m late for work
do you remember when we were young
the swing sets, the costumes
the dirt in the sun
i sold all my baseball cards to buy me some clothes
that’s how it goes
that’s how it goes, and that’s how it goes
and i keep on thinking
it’s time to move on
move out to the city so huge
meet me some people
seems these old hills
they keep on calling
the clouds ’round here talk
man, i been listening
i sold all these clothes to buy me this land
now i’m sorta happy most of the time
most of the time
been riding lots of trains
the same ones as you
how come you get to talk to everybody
i’m just looking out my window at the night view
you keep on pointing out my halo
your big pointy finger
the six-fingered hand
i sold all this land
to buy me some dreams
just like those movies we played when we were kids
now we’re just liars
now we’re just liars
now we’re just liars
now we’re just liars

I COULDNT GET OUT OF FOCO FAST ENOUGH WHEN I GRADUATED. SO DESPARATE I BECAME A RELIGIOUS ZELOT FOR A WHILE. ENED UP IN LOS ANGELES AND DISCOVERED THAT LIFE IS LIFE NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE. SO I CAME BACK TO COLO. AND LIVE IS LIFE HERE TOO. AND ITS PRETTY GOOD.

Go All The Way by Edie Vedder

don’t let anyone say that it’s just a game
for i’ve seen other teams and it’s never the same
when you’re born in chicago you are blessed and you’re healed
the first time you walk into wrigley field
our heros wear pinstripes and heros in blue
give us the chance to feel like heros too
whether we’ll win and if we should lose,
we know someday we’ll go all the way,
yeah, someday we’ll go all the way!
we are one with the cubs, with the cubs we’re in love
hold our head high as the the underdogs
we are not fairweather but farweather fans
like brothers in arms, in the streets and the stands
theres magic in the ivy and the old score board
the same one i stared at as a kid keeping score
in a world full of greed i could never want more
someday we’ll go all the way
yeah, someday we’ll go all the way
someday we’ll go all the way
yeah, someday we’ll go all the
someday we’ll go all the way
heres to the men and the legends we’ve known
teaching us faith and giving us hope
united we stand and united we’ll fall
down to our knees the day we win it all
yeah ernie banks said “well lets play two”
or did he mean two hundred years
in the same ball park, our dimond, our jewel
the home of our joy and our tears
keeping traditions and wishes made new
the place where our grandfathers’ fathers grew
the spiritual feeling if i ever knew
if you aint been, i am sorry for you
and when the day comes for that last winning run
and i’m crying covered in beer
i look to the sky and know i was right
to think someday we’ll go all the way
yeah someday we’ll go all the way
some day we’ll go all the way
yeah, someday we’ll go all the way
x3

FOR GOD'S SAKE! JUST LET THEM WIN ALREADY. ISN'T 108 YEARS ENOUGH HUMILLIATION?

Straight to Hell by The Clash

If you can play on the fiddle
How's about a British jig and reel?
Speaking King's English in quotation
As railhead towns feel the steel mills rust water froze
In the generation
Clear as winter ice
This is your paradise

There ain't no need for ya
Go straight to hell boys

Y'wanna join in a chorus
Of the Amerasian blues?
When it's Christmas out in Ho Chi Minh City
Kiddie say papa papa papa papa-san take me home
See me got photo photo
Photograph of you
Mamma Mamma Mamma-san
Of you and Mamma Mamma Mamma-san
Lemme tell ya 'bout your blood bamboo kid.
It ain't Coca-Cola it's rice.

Straight to hell
Oh Papa-san
Please take me home
Oh Papa-san
Everybody they wanna go home
So Mamma-san says

You wanna play mind-crazed banjo
On the druggy-drag ragtime U.S.A.?
In Parkland International
Hah! Junkiedom U.S.A.
Where procaine proves the purest rock man groove
and rat poison
The volatile Molatov says-

PSSST...
HEY CHICO WE GOT A MESSAGE FOR YA...
VAMOS VAMOS MUCHACHO
FROM ALPHABET CITY ALL THE WAY A TO Z, DEAD, HEAD

Go straight to hell

Can you really cough it up loud and strong
The immigrants
They wanna sing all night long
It could be anywhere
Most likely could be any frontier
Any hemisphere
No man's land and there ain't no asylum here
King Solomon he never lived round here

Go straight to hell boys

I HEARD A MIND BLOWING COVER OF THIS SONG IN A LITTLE BAR NEAR WHERE I LIVED IN L.A. IT MAY HAVE BEEN THE VIPER ROOM DURING THE 2000 CONVENTION. AT ANY RATE, THIS SONG FREQUENTLY RUNS THROUGH MY MIND. AT LEAST THE MA MA MA MA MA SAN AND THE GO STRAIGHT TO HELL BOY PART.

Little Ghost by The White Stripes

Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above

The first moment that I met her
I did not expect a specter
When I shook her hand I really shook a glove
She looked into me so sweetly
And we left the room discreetly
No one else could know the secret of our love

Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above

Every morning I awoke
And I see my little ghost
Wond'rin' if it's really her that's lying there
I lean to touch her and I whisper
But not brave enough to kiss her
When I held her I was really holding air

Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above

Though I try my best to keep it
There really was no secret
Must have looked like I was dancing with the wall
No one else could see this apparition
But because of my condition
I fell in love with a little ghost and that was all

Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above
No, it's not yet time to meet the lord above

CAN YOU LOVE A GHOST? PROBABLY NOT. BUT YOU CAN READ THE WORDS OF A LONG DEAD POET AND THINK "IF I LIVED THEN I WOULD SEEK THIS PERSON OUT" SO MAYBE THAT IS LOVING A GHOST.

We've Been Had by Uncle Tupelo

There's a guitar leaning on a Marshall stack
Used to sound like the sun on the horizon
Now I think we've been had
There's a young girl screaming all the way in the back
Poor kid, she never saw it coming
Now she knows she's been had
Watching the label spinning on my turntable
There's no call waiting in my headphones
And every star that shines in the back of my mind
Is just waiting for its cover to be blown
There's an eardrum bleeding, yeah it's in my head
How could I still be so in love when I know
We've been had?
Republicans and Democrats can't give you the facts
Your parents won't tell you 'til you're grown
That every star that shines in the back of your mind
Is just waiting for its cover to be blown
Flashing the badges, just like the law of averages
Nobody likes 'em where they're from
And every star that hides on the back of the bus
Is just waiting for its cover to be blown

WE HAVE INDEED BEEN HAD

Youth Without Love by Har Mar Superstar

c’mon baby swallow your pride
everybody get in the water
c’mon baby make up your mind
tell me that you’re still gonna try
c’mon baby open your eyes
and if we wake up
tell that it’s gonna be fine
it doesn’t happen all the time
when you find
that you start to lose your mind
nothing can be done
it’s coming to me
and if i could somehow make you mine
a thousand times
i’d never get enough of you
c’mon baby make up your mind
i don’t wanna change you
knowin’ that your setting your sites
you can never give enough
c’mon baby show me your stuff
and if we wake up
c’mon baby give me a sign (just one)
tell me that you’re gonna be mine
when you find
that you start to lose your mind
nothing can be done
it’s coming to me
and if i could somehow make you mine
a thousand times
i’d never get enough of you

NO.... IF I WERE THE CHICK HE IS SINGING TO I WOULD SAY NO. RUN GIRL... RUN...

Suicide Underground by Air

Everyone dated the demise of our neighborhood
From the suicide of the Lisbon girls.
People saw their clairvoyance
In the wiped-out elms and harsh sunlight.
Some thought the torture tearing the Lisbon girls
Pointed to a simple refusal  to accept the world
As it was handed down to them, so full of flaws.
But the only thing we are certain of
After all these years, is the insufficiency of explanations.

Obviously doctor,
You've never been a thirteen year-old girl.

The Lisbon girls were thirteen,
Cecile, fourteen, Lux, fifteen, Bonnie, sixteen, Mary, and seventeen, Therese.
No one could understand how Mrs. Lisbon and Mr. Lisbon,
A math  teacher, had produced such beautiful creatures.

From that time one, the Lisbon house began to change.
Almost every day, and even when she wasn't keeping an eye on Cecilia,
Lux would suntan on her towel wearing a swimsuit
That caused the knife-sharpener to give her a fifteen minute demonstration for free.

The only reliable boy who got to know Lux was Trip Fontaine
For only 18 months before the suicides had emerged from baby fat
To the delight of girls and mothers alike.

But few anticipated it would be so drastic.
The girls were pulled out of school,
And Mrs. Lisbon shut the house for maximum security isolation.
The girls' only contact to the outside world
Was through the catalogs they ordered
That started to fill the Lisbon's mailbox
With pictures of high-end fashions and brochures for exotic vacations.
Unable to go anywhere, the girls traveled in their imaginations
To gold-tipped Siamese temples or past an old man,
The leaf broom tidying the Maw's carpeted speck of Japan ?
And Cecelia hadn't died.
She was a bride in Calcutta

Collecting everything we could of theirs,
We couldn't get the Lisbon girls out of our minds,
But they were slipping away.
The colors of their eyes were fading,
Along with exact locations of moles and dimples.
From five, they had become four,
And they were all (the living and the dead), become shadows.
We would have lost them completely if the girls hadn't contacted us.

Lux was the last to go.
Fleeing from the house, we forgot to stop at the garage.
After the suicide free-for-all,
Mr. and Mrs. Lisbon gave up any attempt to lead a normal life.
They had Mr. Henry pack up the house,
Selling what furniture he could at a garage sale.
Everyone went just to look.
Our parents did not buy used furniture,
And they certainly didn't buy furniture tainted by death.
We of course took the family photos that were put out with the trash.
Mr. Lisbon put the house on the market,
And it was sold to a young couple from Boston.

It didn't matter in the end how old they had been,
Or that they were girls.
But only that we had loved them,
And that they hadn't heard us call, still did not hear us.
Calling out of those rooms where they went to be alone for all time,
Alone in suicide.
Which is deeper than death,
And where we will never find the pieced to put them back together.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen

If you are the dealer, I'm out of the game
If you are the healer, it means I'm broken and lame
If thine is the glory then mine must be the shame
You want it darker
We kill the flame

Magnified, sanctified, be thy holy name
Vilified, crucified, in the human frame
A million candles burning for the help that never came
You want it darker

Hineni, hineni
I'm ready, my lord

There's a lover in the story
But the story's still the same
There's a lullaby for suffering
And a paradox to blame
But it's written in the scriptures
And it's not some idle claim
You want it darker
We kill the flame

They're lining up the prisoners
And the guards are taking aim
I struggled with some demons
They were middle class and tame
I didn't know I had permission to murder and to maim
You want it darker

Hineni, hineni
I'm ready, my lord

Magnified, sanctified, be thy holy name
Vilified, crucified, in the human frame
A million candles burning for the love that never came
You want it darker
We kill the flame

If you are the dealer, let me out of the game
If you are the healer, I'm broken and lame
If thine is the glory, mine must be the shame
You want it darker

Hineni, hineni
Hineni, hineni
I'm ready, my lord

Hineni
Hineni, hineni
Hineni

That Thing You Do by The Wonders

you, doing that thing you do breaking my heart into a million pieces
like you always do and you don't mean to be cruel you never even knew
about the heartache i've been goin' through well, i try and try to forget you girl
but it's just so hard to do every time you do that thing you do and i,
know all the games you play and i'm gonna find a way to let you know
that you'll be mine someday cause we, could be happy,
can't you see if you'd only let me be the one to hold you,
and keep you here with me i don't ask a lot girl but i know one thing's
for sure it's the love i haven't got girl and i just can't take it anymore....
cause it hurts me so just to see you go around with someone new
and if i know you, you're doin' that thing every day,
just doing that thing i can't take you doing that thing you do

Pretty Good Day by Loudon Wainwright III

i slept through the night, i got through to the dawn
i flipped a switch and the light went on
i got out of bed and i put some clothes on
oh, it’s a pretty good day so far
i turned the tap, there was cold, there was hot
i put on my coat to go to the shop
i stepped outside and i didn’t get shot
oh, it’s a pretty good day so far
i didn’t hear any sirens or explosions
no murders coming in from those heavy guns
no un tanks and i didn’t see one
it’s a pretty good day so far
no snipers in windows taking a peak
no people panic, running scared through the streets
i didn’t see any bodies without arms, legs or feet
it’s a pretty good day
there was plasma bandages and electricity
food, wood and water and the air was smoke free
no camera crews from my tv
it was all such a strange sight to be home
n*body was frightened, wounded, hungry or cold
and the children seemed normal, they didn’t look old
it’s a pretty good day so far
i walked through a park, you would not believe it
there in the park, there were a few trees left
and on some branches, there were a few leaves
i slept through the night, i got through to the dawn
i flipped the switch and the light went on
i wrote down my dream, i made it this song
oh, it’s a pretty good day so far

MAN, THIS SONG IS 18 YEARS OLD.... COULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN YESTERDAY...

Feel the Pain by Dinosaur Jr.

I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing
I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing

I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing
I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing

Is it up to me?
You won't wait to see
Screwed us both again
About as close as you've been

I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing
I feel the pain of everyone
Then I feel nothing

Is it up to me?
You won't wait to see
Screwed us yet again
About as close as you've been
Hey now, take it back
Get off me, you're sad
Trailin' on your scene
Just try and keep it clean

GOOD NIGHT FAMOUS GOLF DUDE. GOOD NIGHT.

Have You Ever Seen the Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Someone told me long ago There's a calm before the storm,
I know; It's been comin' for some time.
When it's over, so they say, It'll rain a sunny day,
I know; Shinin' down like water.

I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

Yesterday, and days before, Sun is cold and rain is hard,
I know; Been that way for all my time.
'Til forever, on it goes Through the circle, fast and slow,
I know; It can't stop, I wonder.

I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

 Yeah!

I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

WOW! I HAVE NEVER KNOWN EXACTLY WHAT THIS SONG SAID. AND NOW AFTER READING THE LYRICS, I STILL DONT KNOW. ITS EVEN MORE POETIC.

Ten Cent Pistol by The Bllack Keys

Well, he ran around
Late at night
Holding hands
Making light
Of everything
That came before
But there she was
Behind the door

She hit them with her ten cent pistol
Because they ruined her name
Well, she hit them with her ten cent pistol
And they've never been the same

There's nothing worse
In this world
Than payback from a
Jealous girl
The laws of man
They don't apply
When blood gets in
A woman's eye

Well, she hit them with her ten cent pistol
Because they ruined her name
Well, she hit them with her ten cent pistol
And they've never been the same

Stars did fall
Thunder rolled
Bugs crawled back
In their holes
The couple screamed
But it was far too late
Cause a jealous heart
Did retaliate

She hit them with her ten cent pistol
Because they ruined her name
Well, she hit them with her ten cent pistol
And they've never been the same

WELL... I DONT KNOW WHAT A TEN CENT PISTOL IS BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY DONE MESSED WITH THE WRONG WOMAN. SPEAKING OF PISTOLS... I HEARD ON NPR A STORY ABOUT HOW 4% OF GUN OWNERS OWN 77% OF THE GUNS IN THIS COUNTRY. AND ONLY 44% OF PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY OWN A GUN. THERE IS ONE GUN FOR EVERY MAN WOMAN AND CHILD IN THIS COUNTRY. THATS A BIG CHUNK OF CRAZY.

I've Got the Clap by the Giggles

We got the clap
You got the clap
We cook the rocks
You took the smack
Oh yeah

We got the clap
You got the clap
We took the yellow ones
You took the black
Uh huh

We got the itch
You got the scratch
Burns burns burns like the head of a match
You took the front
I took the back
Oh Yeah

We got the clap
We got it

We got the clap
You got the clap
Wipe my face
On the welcome mat
Uh huh

We got the junk
You got the junk
Shake shake shake
Taste the spunk
Uh huh, I said the spunk

We got the clap
Can't be beat
Got it off the back of a toilet seat
Shake your hips
Mind your feet
Oh yeah

We got the clap
We got the clap
We got it

(Instrumental)

We got the itch
You got the scratch
Burns burns burns like the head of a match
You took the front
We took the back
Oh yeah

Catch my drift
Catch that too
Caught it off a buck-tooth prostitute
You took the front
I took the back
Oh yeah

We got the clap
(We got the clap, can't be beat)
I got the clap
(Got it off the back of a toilet seat)
You got the clap
(Shake your hips, mind your feet)
Oh yeah

We got the clap
You got the clap
We got the clap!

I WAS JUST TELLING BERV THAT THE WORD CLAP, WHEN USED TO REFER TO AN STD, HAS ALWAYS MADE ME SMILE. THIS SONG IS SLIGHTLY DISTURBNIG THOUGH. I GUESS THATS HOW YOU GET IT THOUGH SO... IT'S FUNNY CUZ ITS TRUE.

Stadium Love by Metric

Wanna make a bet
We'll be neck and neck
Taking off the gloves

Spider Vs Bat
Tiger Vs Rat
Rabbit Vs Dove

Wanna make a bet
Odds are neck and neck
Taking off the gloves

Spider Vs Bat
Tiger Vs Rat
Owl Vs Dove

Every living thing
Pushed into the ring
Fight it out
To wow the crowd
Guess you thought
You could just watch
No one's getting out
Without stadium love

Wanna make a trade
Couger for a snake
Wanna fall in love

Wanna make a deal
Angel Vs Eel
Owl Vs Dove

Every living thing
Pushed into the ring
Fight it out
To wow the crowd
Guess you thought
You could just watch
No one's getting out
Without stadium love

We got stadium love

FOR SOME REASON THIS MAKES ME THINK OF THE MOVIE CLASH ROYAL. CAME WAY BEFORE HUNGER GAMES BUT WITH THE SAME PREMISE. BUNCH OF SCHOOL KIDS PUT INTO A STADIUM AND HAVE TO FIGHT TO THE DEATH. EACH KID GOT A WEAPON ASSIGNED TO THEM. SOME KIDS GOT DEADLY WEAPONS LIKE A GUN. SOME KIDS, NOT SO MUCH. ONE KID GOT A POT LID.

Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini by Brian Hyland

She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was as nervous as she could be
She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was afraid that somebody would see
Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore!

It was an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today.
An itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the locker she wanted to stay.
Two, three, four, stick around we'll tell you more!

She was afraid to come out in the open
And so a blanket around her she wore.
She was afraid to come out in the open.
And so she sat bundled up on the shore.
Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore!

It was an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini.
That she wore for the first time today.
An itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini.
So in the blanket she wanted to stay.
Two, three, four, stick around we'll tell you more!

Now she is afraid to come out of the water.
And I wonder what she's gonna do.
'Cause she's afraid to come out of the water.
And now the poor little girl's turning blue.
Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore!

It was an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini.
That she wore for the first time today.
An itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini.
So in the water she wanted to stay.

From the locker to the blanket,
From the blanket to the shore,
From the shore to the water
Guess there isn't any more.

YOU GO GIRL! WEAR THAT BIKINI! WEAR IT!

Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine

A falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes
I screamed aloud, as it tore through them, and now it's left me blind

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

And in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat
I tried to find the sound
But then it stopped, and I was in the darkness,
So darkness I became

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map
And knew that somehow I could find my way back
Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

LADY, DONT YOU THINK YOU ARE BEING JUST A LITTLE OVER DRAMATIC? I MEAN SHEESH! AND WHATS WITH THE BUTT UGLY GETUP?

Zero Population from Saturdays Warrier

Ev'ry day the world is getting smaller by far!
Bursting at the seams, what can we do?
Zero population is the answer, my friend!
Without it the rest of us are doomed!

(chorus)
Who can survive? Who can survive?
Not one of us will be alive!
Who can be strong? Who can be strong?
When ev'ry inch is gone!

Who can survive? Who can survive?
Not one of us will be alive!
Who can be strong? Who can be strong?
When mother earth is gone?

Ev'ry day the food supply is shrinking away!
With starvation at our door what can we do?
Licensing of children is the answer, my friend!
Without it, the rest of us are through!

(chorus)
Who can survive? Who can survive?
Not one of us will be alive!
Who can be strong? Who can be strong?
When all the food is gone?

Who can survive? Who can survive?
Not one of us will be alive!
Who can be strong? Who can be strong?
When ev'ry crumb is gone?

Tragedy our oil is depleting each day!
Ev'ry baby makes it last a shorter time!
Legalized abortion is the answer, my friend!
Without it, there is no peace of mind!

(chorus)
Who can survive? Who can survive?
Not one of us will be alive!
Who can be strong? Who can be strong?
When all the oil is gone!

Who can survive? Who can survive?
Not one of us will be alive!
Who can be strong? Who can be strong?
When energy is gone?

Zero population is the answer my friend.
Without it the rest of us are doomed.

A MORMON MUSICAL FROM THE 70S THAT MY SISTER LISTENED TO ENDLESSLY. IT IS IN A WORD TERRIBLE. SOME OF THE SONGS ARE FUN THOUGH.
